6 Common Dental Problems

Most people don’t realize that there are many dental problems that can occur. Most people assume that a visit to the dentist is just about cleaning the teeth and getting a cavity filled. But it is not just that simple. There are many other problems that can happen to your teeth. If you have any of these issues, then it is time for you to visit a dentist.

Tooth Decay

The best way to prevent tooth decay is to brush and floss at least twice a day. You should also visit your dentist every 6 months for a dental checkup. He or she will scrape the plaque off your teeth, which is a thin film that forms on the surface of the teeth. The dentist will then use a special tool to remove the film. This will help to prevent tooth decay.

Gum Disease

If you have gingivitis, you will notice that your gums become swollen and tender. They may bleed easily when you brush and floss your teeth. 

You should also avoid chewing gum and smoking. These habits can cause your gums to become irritated.


If you have periodontitis, you may notice that your gums are red, swollen, and tender. You may also notice bleeding and pus from your gums.

The main cause of bad breath is the bacteria in the mouth. Bacteria in the mouth can cause bad breath. This is because the bacteria can produce a foul odor.

Because the causes of bad breath are so varied, your dentist will do a complete assessment and prescribe a course of action that best suits your case. 

Cracked or Broken Teeth

If you have a cracked or broken tooth, you should visit a dentist right away. This is the best way to fix the problem. However, if you can’t find a dentist, you can go to a drugstore or grocery store to see if they have a dental assistant. You can also ask your family doctor for a recommendation. Your dentist should be able to help you with your problem.

Root Infection

A root canal is a procedure used to treat the inside of the tooth. It is also known as a “root canal”. The root canal is where the nerve of the tooth is located. This area is usually infected and damaged. The infection can spread to other parts of the tooth or even to the bone. This infection is caused by bacteria or bacterial infection.
